Ski Samnaun - A small village, a huge ski area
| Winter is the season that appears to have been made-to-measure for the charming mountain village of Samnaun. The largest inter-connected ski area in the eastern Alps is one of the regions guaranteed to have plenty of snow - even the bottom of the valley lies at 1,800m. The development of lift facilities has been carried out without interruption and the extensive offers, from carving and snowboard powder runs to winter walks, will leave no winter sport enthusiast in the cold. At an airy height of between 1700 and 2900 meters, Samnaun offers over 235 km of runs - allowing long-term guests to enjoy a new run everyday. 40 modern lift facilities, all included in the ski pass, bring the visitor directly to the start of the carefully prepared runs. The only headache is the choice. A powder run or a ski tour, snowboard or carving: All types of winter sports are offered here in countless variations. For devotees of powder snow, areas such as Alp Bella/Zanderstal, Piz Val Gronda/Vesil or the north slopes of the Pardatschgrates are names that will ring bells. No lift queues Thanks to the biggest passenger cable car, and the world’s first double-decker, the much lamented lift queues in ski holidays are a thing of the past. 180 people are transported at one stroke into the Silvretta Arena Samnaun/Ischgl, where limitless skiing awaits. Samnaun’s winter offers numerous other activities. For cross-country skiers there are 8 km of tracks (skating and classic), winter walkers will find over 40km of maintained trails throughout the countryside, and on top of this are the natural toboggan runs, ice skating, curling – or a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snow-covered Samnaun valley. Enjoyable Après Ski Following a day of fun on the mountain, winter sportsmen and women can end the day pleasantly thanks to the variety of high-quality restaurants and bars in Samnaun. It is clear what makes this holiday destination so special: One minute you are on the never ending ski slopes, the next you are warming yourself in one of the rural, atmospheric Après Ski huts.
