| A sheltered location and snowmaking machines turn Malbun into one of the most snow-reliable places in the Northern Alps region. The openness of the ski resort with 23 kilometers (14 miles) of downhill runs and state-of-the-art lifts (chair lifts are heated) give parents and children alike a feeling of security, even when the little ones are out of sight for a moment. The surroundings of Steg, at the entrance of the Samina Valley, are a small cross-country skiing paradise. This area is also known as the Maiensaess (summertime alp cabins) of the Walsers. |
