In the heart of the historical old city centre, at the "Rathausplatz", in the "Franziskanergasse", at "Unterlindenplatz" and at the "Kartoffelmarkt" young and old have enjoyed the fascination of Freiburg’s Christmas Market. Fascinated by the multitude of traditional crafts such as glass blowing or the colourful wooden toys.
The mouthwatering aroma of mulled wine and bratwurst, gingerbread cake and hot chestnuts weaves its way through the idyllic alleys. Here, too, there are innumerable ideas for gifts to choose from, for example, jewellery, puppets, pottery, candles, Christmas tree decoration and much more.
For ideas of a different nature for gifts, you can visit the candle workshop at the end of Franziskanergasse. Have your own individual candles made or learn to make candles yourself! Also open for groups and school classes.
